This is a product created to gradually minimize the appearance of stretch marks on the skin. Helps with flattening ridges and improving pigment. The texture of the skin is also improved as cell turnover is increased.
There are some good recommendations about how to get soft skin on the Internet, but there are plenty of bad ones, too. Before you buy a product recommended by a reviewer, learn about the ingredients. It could save you time, frustration, pain and money. Here is an example of what I am talking about:
In a recent article, a bar soap made by a major manufacturer was recommended improving the skin's softness. A quick check at the Environmental Working Group's Cosmetic Safety Database showed that there are health concerns about the safety of the product. It contains allergens, irritants, toxins and possible or probable carcinogens.
Some people are not afraid of exposure to toxins and carcinogens. In my opinion, it is better to be safe than sorry, especially when there is no reason to risk the exposure.
The big cosmetic companies include allergens, irritants and toxins in their products it has been found. They try to keep their profits high by using synthetic man-made ingredients, rather than the safer natural ones. If you want a bar soap that softens and is safe, look for one that contains extracts from wakame kelp or manuka honey. Nevertheless, the key to having soft skin is to use a good moisturizer after bathing and showering.
Wakame kelp is a good ingredient to look for in a moisturizer. It prevents the breakdown of an important compound called hyaluronic acid. One of the reasons younger people have softer skin is because they have more hyaluronic acid. The compound is also partially responsible for smoothness and firmness.
Other things responsible for the skin's firmness, smoothness and softness are collagen, elastin and keratin. They are simple structural proteins. Numerous things, including nutritional intake and age, affect the body’s production of the three.
As ingredients in skincare products, collagen and elastin will not help you have soft skin, but keratin will, as long as it is properly formulated. Collagen and elastin cannot penetrate. Keratin can be picked up and used by the skin's cells, if it is processed gently enough and allowed to remain active.
Keratin helps to pull moisture from the air into the skin's cells. That makes it a humectant. Humectants are known to be beneficial for softening and moisturizing. However, many humectants are toxic.
It is possible to have soft skin, regardless of your age. It is also possible to find safe skincare products. It takes a little effort, but it is time well spent.

Pores provide an opening for the skin’s oil glands and a follicle for hair growth. Some people want to reduce the size of the pores on their face for aesthetic reasons, but pore size is mainly predetermined by genetics. If a person is born with large pores, he or she will have a difficult time trying to change this fact. Other factors that affect pore size include skin type, blocked pores, and collagen production. Environmental factors can also play a role in determining pore size.
Skin type, which is also generally determined by genetics, is one factor that can influence the size of a person’s pores. People with oily skin tend to have larger pores while people with dry skin generally have smaller pores. This is also, why many pores tend to be larger around the nose where skin is often oilier. When oils collect on the skin, they can clog pores and cause pores to appear larger.
Pore size can increase due to environmental debris and dirt. Cleansing skin, thoroughly twice a day may help to keep dirt from building up in pores. Cosmetic products, particularly foundation products, can also sometimes clog pores. People who are prone to large pores may want to be careful about which cosmetic products they choose and be sure that they thoroughly remove the products before going to sleep.
Acne, or blackheads, is another thing that can block and stretch pores. In this case, acne treatments, such as a face wash containing salicylic acid, can help reduce the size of pores. Regular exfoliating can help prevent acne and other types of pore blockages that cause an increase in pore size.
Collagen helps skin maintain elasticity and people with less collagen will appear to have larger pores than those with healthy collagen production. The aging process can reduce the amount of collagen in the skin. Sun exposure can also reduce collagen and cause skin to age prematurely. Smoking cigarettes also reduces the amount of collagen in the skin.
Some studies have shown that maintaining a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water can sometimes help keep skin healthy and help pores appear smaller. Microdermabrasion is another technique for reducing pore size. In this procedure, a dermatologist uses a machine that removes the outer layer of skin and suctions dirt and blackheads out of the pores. For some people, it might also stimulate increased collagen production.
A new study carried out by sociology graduate students from London's LSE University, has found that black women who have a regular skincare regime, and used high quality skin lightening creams, were up to 78% more likely to be married than those who used a basic skincare regime.
The study surveyed more than 3200 black between the ages of 18 and 34, in London, Birmingham, and Manchester in the United Kingdom, New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Atlanta and Chicago in the United states Kingston, Jamaica, Barbados, and Lagos, Nigeria, found a direct correlation between a black woman having a skincare regime, that included using face ,asks and high quality skin lightening creams to even out their skintones, and the likely hood that she would be in a committed relationship that led to marriage.
Leanne Bonner, a legal secretary from New York, and one of the respondents from the survey, stated "I've been in a relationship for 4 years now and will be getting married in four months. I have always known that aside from personality, which is most important to my fiancé, he also needs some eye candy. That is why I make sure that I use the best quality skin brightening creams for my skin to keep it clear and even. Using herbal based skin lightening creams, makes all the difference, because obviously there is dangers involved in buying from a local beauty store, so I only buy my products from good suppliers. Many of my friends have bought from neighbourhood stores, and their skin looks terrible, because the ingredients are not safe. They get discoloration, and burning, but my skin, is clear. I tell them where to buy, now, and tell them that looking after their skin is an investment. Their skin looks patchy and dull…I'm not surprised that they are single."
Christina Farley, product manager at NubianBlue.com, a leading online retailer of specialist black skincare products and plant based skin lightening creams, stated during the survey; " It is very important for black women to ensure that they use skincare products of the highest quality. How your skin and hair looks, makes a statement on how you value yourself, and how other people will value you. If you use cheap nasty skin care products, or products that are not specially formulated for black skin, and your skin is dull, ashy and not glowing, then the types of men that you will attract will reflect that level. If you take time to look after yourself, and invest in your appearance, then of course a better level of man will come into your life. It makes sense that if your skin looks fabulous, your hair looks good, you are properly groomed, and wear better clothes, then you will be noticed by wealthier men, who will be attracted to you and will be looking for commitment. It is the little things, that higher level men notice, and skin, is the first indicator of how you look after yourself."
The study showed that subconsciously, men equated light, clear skin with fertility, and would immediately make the decision, to seek to secure the women with a proposal of marriage. Nubianblue.com, a specialist black skincare company, has developed a range of skin lightening creams that uses only natural plant ingredients, and enzymes, to lighten dark skin, that are safe and actually nourish the skin.
Seeing the need for a safe skin-lightening product, the founders of the company ensured that all skin lightening creams made by NubianBlue.com undergo 28 separate quality tests, to certify safety, quality and effectiveness.
The creation of higher quality skincare products, that has wound up assisting black women to become more stable in relationships, by attracting better men, is a by product of companies like NubianBlue.com that were created to ensure that black women, look their very best at all times.
I would like to post a few treatments you can use to treat and heal acne problems. The treatments bellow all contain variations, which include Olive Oil. Olive oil is full of nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, and natural compounds that benefit our skin.
Antioxidants including vitamins A and E, polyphenols, phytosterols and avenasterol; they work to neutralize free radicals and repair cell membranes. A free radical is an unstable molecule created by exposure to things like cigarette smoke, pollution, alcohol and radiation.
A natural organic compound used in cosmetics as a moisturizer. It is taken from the liver of sharks, but also found in olive oil - a more environmentally friendly source. Squalene helps to regulate sebum. Sebum is produced by the sebacious glands in our skin and is secreted through our pores. It forms a coating on the skin that acts as a barrier, inhibits the growth of micro-organisms and lubricates our skin and hair.
A photosynthetic pigment found in plants and algae. It is an anti-aging substance that promotes the healing of skin conditions and wounds.
Here are a few scrubs and cleansers using Olive Oil to treat and heal your skin from Acne.
Olive Oil and Salt:
Some have found that a mixture of olive oil & salt works very well for acne.
You can make a paste mixing 4 parts salt with 3 parts olive oil.
Apply the paste gently to your face using your fingertips.
You can leave it on for a couple of minutes before gently rinsing with warm water and perhaps a mild soap.
You can start by using it daily before bed for the first week. Then gradually decrease the application to 2-3 times per week. Both salt and olive oil have antibacterial qualities. The salt pulls water out of your skin. The salt also works as a scouring agent, mechanically removing dead skin and dirt.
Olive Oil and Lemon Juice
1/4 tsp. olive oil
1/8 tsp. lemon juice
In a bowl, mix the olive oil and the lemon juice.
Stir to combine and set aside.
Wash face with an oil free cleanser and dry.
With clean hands, dip your fingers in the olive oil and massage into the skin, concentrating on the acne scars.
Leave on for 20 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water.
This treatment is to be done in morning.
At night before bed, follow the same directions as above, this time do not rinse off the olive oil.
Leave the mixture on the face because the skin does most of it's repairing at night.
Olive Oil and baking Soda
2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. olive oil
Add baking soda to make a facial scrub. In a bowl mix the baking soda and olive oil to make a paste. With clean hands, apply the mixture to the face and scrub for one minute. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Do this two to three times a week to exfoliate the skin and reduce the visibility of acne scars.
Try the above remedies and you should see results within a few weeks.
Having an uneven skin tone is one of the common problems faced by most fair skinned individuals. Those who have uneven skin tone often complain that certain areas of their skin appear darker or lighter, which gives them a blotchy appearance. Uneven skin tone can occur for various reasons, most of which can be internal and environmental in nature.
The substance results in the pigmentation of our skin cells. Normally, some areas of our skin have lesser melanin than other areas. As the cells containing more melanin are exposed to sunlight, they become darker in color while those that have less exposure to the sun remain lighter. Having uneven skin tone can also be attributed to internal factors such as hormonal changes.
Pregnant women or women taking birth control pills are more prone to having this skin problem. Excessive estrogen can cause melanin to reproduce at a much rapid rate, which results in blotchy brown skin. So how do you treat this skin problem? Actually, there are many ways to deal with uneven skin tone. Let me share to you some of them.
Exfoliating the skin's surface regularly will help you achieve a much even skin tone. Focus on the areas with the darkest area of the skin to even out the color. Regular exfoliation will definitely help keep your skin prevent looking patchy. However, it is very important not to overdo it. Once to twice a week, exfoliation would be great. Also, do not forget to slather on moisturizer after exfoliating to prevent your skin from getting dry.
LOAD UP ON SPF
When you already have uneven skin tone, the first thing you have to do is to ensure proper skin protection. The sun can cause more damage to your skin and it will be much harder for you to treat it if it gets worse. To prevent further skin damage, always use sunscreen when going out in the sun. Try to avoid having prolonged exposure to the sun as much as possible.
Serious cases of uneven skin tone may require the help of a professional. Most skin care devices such as FSD and IPL have been known to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone. These skin care devices penetrate on the deeper dermal layers of the skin and remove dead skin layers, which in effect help clear pigmentation and encourage skin regeneration.
Olive Oil helps to slow the aging process of the skin and increases the skins ability to retain moisture. Olive oil for skin care can prove quite beneficial, since it is rich in all kinds of nutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins which are great for the body, whether you choose to eat it, or use it on your skin.
When cleansing and moisturizing your skin, it is imperative that you keep in mind that oil dissolves oil.
Extra virgin olive oil is the preferred grade for moisturizing the skin, especially when used in the oil cleansing method (OCM). OCM is a method of cleansing and moisturizing the face with a mixture of extra virgin olive oil, castor oil (or another suitable carrier oil) and a select blend of essential oils. The oil cleansing method, often abbreviated to OCM, is a system for cleaning a human face using oils.

Olive oil contains a natural anti-inflammatory ingredient. Many of today's age related diseases are related to inflammations inside of the body's cellular system. With a reduction of these inflammations, chances of aging diseases and ailments are reduced. The Greeks have been using olive oil for centuries to preserve beautiful and youthful skin. It contains oleic acid, which can make skin more permeable and supple. Applied to the face and body can plump and smooth skin, and improve on wrinkles and sagging.
The body is continually faced with environmental pollutants whether through daily interactions with smog, air pollutants and life in general. These pollutants cause free radicals to build up in the body. Free radicals collect in the body as a reaction to these pollutants and begin to quickly destroy the structure of the cell. Free radicals take over the reproductive properties of the cell and reproduce rapidly. Antioxidants anti aging benefits are derived from the antioxidant ability to heal the cell and prevent the free radicals from reproducing.
Once the free radicals of the body are left with no place to grow, the cell can regain its health and the body begins the rebuilding process. The body is constantly invaded with pollutants that cause free radical and it's important to have a constant level of antioxidants on a regular bases. Research shows us that antioxidants and vitamins help ward off free radical damage and lessen the appearance of aging.
Olive oil contains polyphenols, natural occurring plant molecules that are potent antioxidants with strong anti-inflammatory properties. Polyphenols have been shown in some studies to be effective in improving skin's health, making it smoother and younger looking. Extra virgin olive oil contains high concentrations of natural antioxidants such as vitamin A and E.
First, because of its antioxidant activity, vitamin E is vital in protecting skin cells from ultra violet light, pollution, drugs, and other elements that produce cell damaging free radicals. Vitamin E helps skin look younger by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Other benefits of vitamin E found in olive oil are:
Benefits of vitamin E also include helping the body increase and regulate the levels of vitamin A in the body and as a general immune system booster, especially in older adults. Topical vitamin E might also promote good blood circulation and prevent the formation of blood clots, especially in people with diabetes.
With all the benefits of Olive Oil, it is no wonder that more creams or lotions made these days contain these beneficial ingredients. Skin is able to absorb natural vitamin E effectively. However, taking vitamin E orally is important for the good health of other areas of the body.
In summary, it' recommended to use skin care products that contain these beneficial ingredients. The miracle of olive oil and overall good health is easier than you think!
