Most people would be surprised to know that by making a few relatively simple lifestyle changes, you can greatly affect the appearance of your skin, giving it a more youthful, healthy appearance.Vitamins taken internally or applied to the skin externally have been shown to make a difference in skin's appearance. There are some specific vitamins that have been shown to be especially helpful.
The first step to having healthy skin, however, is to make sure it is well hydrated and protected from the sun. Drinking enough water and wearing sunblock every single day are two important steps that will keep skin looking and feeling young. You should also remember that the easiest way to get the vitamins your skin needs is by eating a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, essential fatty acids and lean sources of protein, along with taking a daily multivitamin.
If you want to give your complexion a little extra help, however, you have two options to supplement your diet with vitamins. First, you can purchase creams, lotions, or gels that contain vitamins or antioxidants that you will apply externally as part of your skin care regimen. Second, you can take vitamin supplements in pill form. If you do choose to take skin supplements, always follow the dosing instructions and do not take more than is directed. Taking too many vitamins can be harmful.
So, which vitamins are most beneficial for the skin? Research has shown that vitamins C, A, K, E, and B complex are the most helpful in approving the health and appearance of the skin. A few of these are most effective when applied topically.
Vitamin C works as an antioxidant, encouraging collagen production, which makes the skin look younger and improves the appearance of fine lines. Vitamin C also reduces damage caused by sun exposure. Eating fruits and veggies high in C are the best way to get this vitamin, but it also works well when applied directly to the skin as in a cream. Vitamin E works similarly to calm the skin, and can also be applied topically.
Vitamins A and K are most beneficial for the skin when applied topically. Vitamin A is often found in acne treatments and anti-aging creams, as it can also work to improve fine lines.Vitamin K has been shown to reduce under eye circles. B vitamins, finally, work to even out skin tone overall and to help skin retain moisture.
It is relatively easy to find these vitamins in skin creams and lotions. The market for anti-aging products is huge, and even inexpensive drugstore brands often feature vitamin-enriched creams. Once you know what specific vitamin you are looking for, simply read the label and choose the cream that will be most beneficial to you.
Aside from vitamins, there are certain minerals that can help improve the appearance of the skin. Copper, selenium, and zinc can also improve acne, restore elasticity and prevent some forms of skin cancer. It is best to discuss these with your dermatologist or physician, because taking these supplements can be dangerous.

Eyeshadow primer is a cosmetic that is used to coat the eyelids prior to the application of eyeshadow so that the eyeshadow can be applied in a smooth, even layer and so that the eyeshadow will stay in place on the eyelid. Some people find that creases appear in their eyeshadow during the day. These creases are the result of movements of the eyelid that are the result of simply blinking and normal eye movements. Eyeshadow primer works to keep these creases from appearing and can also help to boost the vibrancy of the eyeshadow color.
Most kinds of eyeshadow primer comes in either a tube or small tub and are applied either with a brush or with a wand with a soft end. A concealer brush can be used to apply eyeshadow primer. The kind of wand that is used to apply the cosmetic is very similar to the kinds of wands that are used to apply lip gloss. Although there are slight variations in the colors of eyeshadow primer, most of them come in shades that blend in with most skin tones. This is because the purpose of eyeshadow primer is not to accent the eyelids with color, but to prepare the eyelids for eyeshadow that will serve that purpose.
Although eyeshadow primer has a slightly wet consistency, it dries quickly once it is applied to the eyelid. In order to make sure that the primer dries correctly, the cosmetic should be applied in a thin, even layer. Once the primer has dried, there is a smooth, even surface that will accept eyeshadow well and will work to keep it in place. The principle behind the use of eyeshadow primer is quite similar to the principle behind using primer on a wall: creating an even layer of the product covers the structure beneath and creates a better surface for the top coat of product.
Eyeshadow primer can be especially important to people who spend their days in warm or humid conditions. The condensation of humidity or sweat on the eyelids can cause eyeshadow to crease, move, and even run. Using a product like primer, however, can keep this from happening. The product can also be important for people who like to wear very dramatic eyeshadow, which, if smudged can go from looking beautiful to messy in, literally, the blink of an eye. By simply keeping the eyeshadow in place, primer avoids this problem.

Eyeshadow is a popular cosmetic. However, with so many colors available, it can be difficult to know which are best for you. There are several tips that can help you choose the best eyeshadowcolor, such as visiting a professional cosmetics consultant, matching your other cosmetics, and assessing your wardrobe.
One of the best ways to choose an attractive eyeshadow color is by visiting a professional cosmetics consultant. These individuals are commonly employed in department stores that sell a wide range of brand name cosmetics. Generally, they are very helpful and skilled when it comes to selecting the right makeup for each consumer. There are at least two benefits of employing their assistance. First, you usually get to learn a lot for free, and second, you usually get a professionally applied sample even if you do not make a purchase.
If you need to choose an eyeshadow shade on your own, you need to develop matching skills. There are several items that your new eyeshadow needs to match. First, it needs to match your skin. Second, it needs to blend with your other cosmetics. Third, it should suit your wardrobe and lifestyle.
Every eyeshadow color is not suitable for every skin tone. Although people are often referred to in simple colors, such as white or black, their skin colors are actually significantly more complex. One African-American, for example, can have light brown skin with yellow undertones, while another has dark brown skin with red undertones. A color that is suitable for one may be unattractive on the other.
The color of your skin and any undertones can cause the eyeshadow color to appear differently on the skin than it does in the package. Therefore, you may want to sample a color before you purchase it. You will need to become acquainted with what works for you and what does not work.
This requires you to be honest with yourself in instances when an eyeshadow color is pretty but not attractive on you. A good rule of thumb is to stick to your first impression. If you do not like how it looks on your eyelids when you first see it, do not convince yourself that you can make it look better later.
Unless you are planning to buy new packages of other cosmetics, such as blush and lipstick, you need to consider what you have when you are choosing a new eyeshadow color. Although a greeneyeshadow looks good on you, it may not look good once you put on your red blush and lipstick. Do not buy eyeshadow without a plan of what you will wear it with. Also, shop with some of your other cosmetics either in your purse or on your face.
Finally, you must consider your wardrobe and lifestyle. If most of your clothes for the season are green and purple, the green eyeshadow may be a good investment. However, orangey-orange may be a shade you want to leave in the store. Furthermore, you need to consider where you will wear the eyeshadow and the impression it will give. For example, if you are employed in a corporate environment and you are searching for a shade for work, gothic black eyeshadow may make you the talk of the office but not in a positive way.

An eyeshadow palette is a case used to organize individual eyeshadow pans into one convenient location. Palettes are available in a wide variety of sizes and can contain anywhere from a few select shadows to dozens of shades. Cosmetics companies often sell pre-filled options stocked with coordinating colors and textures, but it is also possible to customize an eyeshadow palette. Whether an eyeshadow palette contains minimal shadows for creating one or two looks or enough shadows to create any look imaginable, it is an organized, convenient way to access all necessary shadows at once.
One version of an eyeshadow palette is a small case containing a few colors to create a specific look. Drugstore palettes often fall into this category, offering three or four colors in one case that are meant to be worn together. This type of palette is usually organized by look, boasting a few different colors or shades specifically selected to complement each other. Small, portable palettes such as these typically contain a lid color, highlight, crease color, and a darker shade for lining the eyes. These simple palettes are good for makeup beginners or people who have trouble selecting complementary shades.
Bigger versions of the pre-stocked eyeshadow palette contain more colors and can create more color combinations and different makeup looks. It is common for these larger palettes to contain shades from every color as well as neutrals. Large palettes are usually organized by color or texture to make it easy to find the desired shade and compare it with other shadow options. Casual makeup wearers generally do not need an eyeshadow palette this extensive. Makeup artists and eyeshadow enthusiasts, however, will benefit from having a huge selection of shadows all neatly organized in one palette.
Some palettes may be devoted entirely to one color family. For example, a neutral eyeshadow palette will contain several shades of brown, gray, cream, taupe, and perhaps peach, pink, or metallics. People with extensive makeup collections may have an eyeshadow palette devoted to multiple shades of the same color. An eyeshadow palette for blue tones, for instance, might contain shades of turquoise, teal, navy, royal, or pale blues in multiple textures such as matte, shimmer, or glitter.
Customizable eyeshadow palettes allow individuals to select unique color combinations according to their own makeup needs or preferences. Individual pans of eyeshadow are purchased and placed in an empty case to create a one of a kind palette. Some palette cases have dividers inside to hold the pans in place, whereas others are open and accommodate any shape or size shadow pan. The colors in a customizable eyeshadow palette are generally complementary, but can be diverse enough to create multiple makeup looks.

An eyeshadow quad contains four different complimentary eyeshadow colors. These can be used either separately or together. Choosing the best eyeshadow quad depends largely on the color of your eyes, hair, and skin. For instance, women with fair complexions should avoid dark colors. Dark eyeshadow generally looks good on women with dark complexions.
Brown-eyed women typically have the greatest number of options when choosing eyeshadow colors. An eyeshadow quad containing browns or greens will look especially attractive, if you have brown eyes. If your eyes are light brown, you may want to try a gray or turquoise eyeshadow. If they are dark, on the other hand, an eyeshadow quad containing gold may help them stand out.
If you have green eyes, your eyeshadow quad options may be a little more limited. Generally, women with green eyes, especially light green eyes, should avid light eyeshadow colors. An eyeshadow quad containing shades of plum can help make green eyes stand out. Eyeshadow quads with brown or neutral hues will also look good on green eyes.
Blue-eyed women will typically have a harder time choosing an eyeshadow quad. Most makeup artists agree that blue-eyed women should not use blue eyeshadow. Instead, earth tones are more suitable. For a splash of color, purple hues can be used as well, since this color can help make blue eyes stand out.
If you have hazel eyes, you can choose an eyeshadow quad that contains browns or greens. Using brown eyeshadow can help make the brown in your eyes more noticeable. On the other hand, using green eyeshadow can help make the green in your eyes more noticeable. You may also want to use a combination of these two colors.
Your hair and skin color should also play a role in which eyeshadow quad you choose. If you have a light complexion and hair, for instance, you should stay away from very dark eyeshadow. Instead, opt for light hues, including pastels. For dark complexions and hair, on the other hand, light hues should be avoided. Dark eyeshadow colors, like charcoal, should be used instead. Dark or bold colors can be used as well.
When using eyeshadow, first apply the lightest color to the brow bone. The next-darkest color should then be applied to the eyelid, from the upper lashes to the crease. The third color should be blended into the crease. Finally, the darkest color should be applied along both lash lines. To make the eyes appear larger, some makeup artists only apply this line from the center of the pupil to the outside corner of the eye.

The eyeshadow brush you need depends on the type of eye color you are using and the effect you are trying to achieve. Be prepared to purchase a special brush if there is a certain special effect you would like to create. Also, be sure to always check the feel of the bristles and the quality of the brush’s construction before making your purchase.
Check the bristles of the brush. If they feel rough to your fingers, think that the eye area is even more sensitive, so you may want to pass. You do not want to get an eyeshadow brush that causes irritation. Furthermore, stiff bristles can be less effective for general eyeshadow application.
Not only is the feel of the bristle important, it is also important to consider what the bristles are made of. The best choice of materials depends on the type of eyeshadow you plan to use. Beauty professionals commonly suggest that natural hair brushes are best when applying powders. Brushes with synthetic bristles tend to work well with creamy eyeshadows.
The effect you are trying to create also plays a role in choosing an eyeshadow brush. If you want your eye color to appear brilliant, you want to choose a firmer brush. Well-blended application is usually best achieved with a softer brush. It may be best to think of firm brushes as evening brushes, since they create bold effects that are usually suggested for night looks. Soft brushes can be considered day brushes because of the toned down effect they produce.
Special effects generally require special brushes. For example, creation of the smoky eye look is usually best achieved if a smudge brush is used. This is a brush with bristles that are short, flat, and arranged in a rounded shape. If you choose to buy a brush to create special effects, realize that it is not likely to be effective for general application.
Even if you consider price, you also need to consider quality. Sometimes an eyeshadow brush is cheap for a reason, and when this is the case, you will find yourself needing to replace your brushes more often than should be necessary. Low quality brushes can also have negative effects on your attempts to effectively apply your eyeshadow, especially if the bristles fall out. For this reason, it is best to avoid purchasing an eyeshadow brush that is in a package and which has no sample for you to observe.
